Meeting was called to order at 12:17 September 16th 2004 by President Al Gulutzan.

Minutes of the Spring 2004 Northwest Area Meeting in Reno were read by Doug Krust and accepted as read.

TrusteeÕs report

Report by Trustee Bob Wesselink was read by Secretary Doug Krust

                  Bob attended the National Fall meeting in Bismarck North Dakota on August 26-29th 2004 sponsored by Montana-Dakota utilities and Rainbow Energy Marketing. A motion was carried to move $10,000 to the scholarship fund from the general fund and the scholarship committee decided to invest the fund with Piper Jaffrey. There was more discussion about the use of an electronic log and how they plan on printing at least one paper copy for archiving purposes. The amount paid to the Area TrusteeÕs to travel to the National Meetings was increased to $750 and a motion was passed to increase the amount offered to a meeting host be increased to $1000

Treasurer reported balances of:

                  General Fund                                                                         $43,107.91

                  Jessie Paschell Promotional fund                    $7,482.47

                  Nick Nicholson Scholarship fund                    $52,402.58

 

Report of the President

Al read the APDA motto to the group. He thanked Bobbie Roberts for a great meeting and an excellent agenda. He also mentioned how the after meeting discussions were really where the problems of the industry are discussed and sometimes solved.

 

New Business

Kevin Conway made a motion to offer Bobbie Roberts from Northwestern the traditional $500 to help offset the cost of the meeting. Bobbie said she will contact Conway if any money was needed.

 

Report of the Nominations Committee

Conway nominated Arlen Simon for new Treasurer. Nomination carried. He will take over the TreasurerÕs duties prior to the spring meeting. Nominations for new vice president will be made and voted on at the spring. Contact Bobbie Roberts or Rick Krumpeck if you are interested in the position

 

Good of the Association

Rich Belt commented on the low turn out and asked all members to encourage others to attend.

Kevin Conway asked for the contact people to use the form on the webpage to send the yearly dues in and to keep email addresses current. I will be sending out a reminder towards the end of 2004.

 

Accidents and sickness of members

None reported

 

Announcements

The spring 2005 meeting will be held in Vancouver, BC on May 18th-19th and hosted by BCTC. This will be in conjunction with the Northwest Power Pool meeting. Dave Bennett is the primary contact person.

The fall 2005 will be held in Wenatchee, Washington and jointly sponsored by Chelan, Douglas and Grant PUDÕs.
